China Federation of Literary and Art Circles Hong Kong Member Association Introduction
China Federation of Literary and Art Circles Hong Kong Member Association (HKL&A) is a leading organisation representing Hong Kong’s cultural and artistic community. Officially established in November 2020, HKL&A has been actively promoting Chinese culture in Hong Kong, fostering cultural exchanges and collaboration between Hong Kong and the mainland, nurturing artistic talent and supporting the flourishing development of Hong Kong’s arts sector — all under guidance of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles (CFLAC) and with strong support of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the HKSAR. These efforts have been widely recognized by the HKSAR government and the industry. HKL&A is also the sole national-level organisation representing the cultural and performing arts sector in the HKSAR Election Committee.
HKL&A is currently led by the Directorate Board comprising seven directors: President Hon. Ma Fung-kwok, Executive President Mr. Hoffman Ma Ho-man, Vice Presidents Hon. Kenneth Fok Kai-kong, Ms. Tang Yuen-ha, Mr. Lam Tian-xing, Ms. Cally Kwong Mei-wan and Mr. Yu Chiu-for (also serving as Secretary-General). By the end of 2024, CFLAC had over 400 Hong Kong members, all of whom are ex-officio members of HKL&A.
In June 2024, HKL&A signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) with CFLAC during the 3rd Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Cultural and Arts Cooperation Summit. This MOC grants HKL&A the rights to nominate delegates to the CFLAC National Congress, recommend new members for CFLAC-affiliated national arts associations and participate in CFLAC-led initiatives and events. The MOC fully reflects that CFLAC recognizes and supports HKL&A while solidifying its leading role in Hong Kong’s cultural and artistic sector.
Moving forward, HKL&A will continue to unite Hong Kong’s cultural and artistic community, striving for cultural integration, artistic innovation and mutual learning among civilizations while contributing to Hong Kong’s development as a global hub for cultural and artistic exchange.
